Children Companion Organization protects children’s against the worst forms of child abuse by taking an active role for social change through education and resource development.
Our Story
Originally founded a year ago by a group of passionate youth volunteers, the group started while we were working under Humanitarian settings, in Nduta, Mtendeli and Nyarugusu Refugee Camps in Kigoma, Tanzania, working with Danish Refugee Council in several projects such as Youth and Livelihood Programming, Education and General Food Distribution as Project Implementers in partnership with UNHCR and WFP.
There is no trust more sacred than the one the world holds with children, there is no duty more important than ensuring that their rights are respected, that their welfare is protected, that their lives are free from fear and want and that they can grow up in peace. Children Companion Organization is meant to ensure all the above are attained to achieve a better tomorrow for our children.
Our Organisation
Children Companion Organization is a Multi-Sectorial Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered to operate at a National level in Tanzania Mainland with its main offices at Monduli District, Arusha Tanzania. It is an autonomous, non-partisan, non-religious and non-political organization based on non-profit making, voluntary and social works.
It was established in 2018 and came to be fully registered under the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania section 12(2) of Act No. 24 of 2002 in the midst of 2019. Its mission is to promote the protection of children’s rights towards development. Children Companion Organization has been at the forefront of identifying children in Tanzania as among the most vulnerable members in our communities.Thus we believe that service rendered to children is the most sacred.
Children Companion Organization aims to provide the conditions, training and resources needed for the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual well-being of children affected by the negative influences of child maltreatment. These necessary basic resources include food, clean water, sanitation, education, medicine, and physical and emotional security.
Children Companion Organization comprises members from Tanzania and a few from other nations who decided to come together to make a change in our pro-poor Tanzanian communities. The members are committed and believers in the courage of serving beyond self as they encourage creativity, boldness and innovation without fear of failure as they work to make a greatest possible impact in the lives of children’s in their communities. They believe that through care and protection of children rights in a multi-dimensional aspect, a better tomorrow for children is assured.
